War is Gay
And Foreign Policy Deserves to be Taken Seriously. Gender Politics are the distraction the establishment needs to perpetuate continuous war to the detriment of American Prosperity.
The scene is humble, it’s a warm early spring Saturday on New Hampshire’s seacoast, where Jeremy Kauffman, is hosting a kickoff party for his third party campaign as a Libertarian for US Senate. The Small venue, a Libertarian clubhouse and community center known as The SHELL, hosted a robust crowd for the event, packed in, to what anyone would rightfully assume was its peak capacity, to hear Jeremy talk about his goals in running the campaign, and what he hoped to accomplish in the next 9 months.
The highlight of the event, after remarks from Jeremy and his partner Rachel, was the debut and premiere of the campaign’s first video advertisement, shockingly titled “War is Gay.”
Rather than doing the injustice of describing the 2-minute tour-de-force of an attack on all things detestable in the modern culture war, I’ll let you simply watch it yourself here.
Provocative? Sure.
Thoughtful? If you have the patience and wherewithal to think about it.
War is Gay, at least that’s what the modern left would rather have you focus on.
The United States has engaged in military conflict for 227 of the 245 years since the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Over the course of American history, this efficient and nearly unstoppable war machine has killed 1.64 billion foreigners, and 1.35 million Americans. America has taxed, borrowed, and spent hundreds of trillions of dollars on death, and the world's richest line their pockets.
The Presidency of Joe Biden saw the messy end of the longest war in American history, the 20-year conflict in Afghanistan outlasted the quagmire of Vietnam by merely 5 months to lay claim to that title. Yet as we finally closed that chapter, the question raging in the American political theater was not of the tragedy and avoidance of war, but rather whether transgender soldiers would fight America’s future wars.
During Vietnam, men faked homosexuality to escape war enslavement. The “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy of the Clinton administration allowed men and women to join the armed forces, without disclosing their sexual preferences during enlistment. President Obama changed this rule again, lifting any prohibition on being gay in the armed forces. Most cheered these measures as great steps for equality of the LGBT community, instead of recognizing what it is- a militaristic expansion of the servile class to include gays as cannon fodder in America’s endless wars.
During the presidency of Donald Trump, policy swung again. The prohibition of transgender soldiers caused a massive outcry of discrimination and hatred, despite the real logistical concerns of medical liability caused by transitioning transgender soldiers on a unit’s readiness to deploy overseas. We also saw the introduction of the debate on registering women for the draft. Both sides of this discourse declared the other sexist, both claimed to be the side of gender equality, yet only a fringe minority called for the abolition of the draft.
In 2020, the campaign of now-President Joe Biden promised to bring diversity and inclusion to America’s armed forces. To overturn President Trump’s prohibition on transgender troops serving in combat roles. To focus on the appointment of women, and minorities to positions of military leadership. Advertisements were run by the CIA celebrating the Hispanic heritage of their spies and analysts. Promotional videos from the Marine Corps celebrated that recruits had lesbian parents from disadvantaged neighborhoods. It no longer matters how gay you are, how impoverished, or how brown, you too, can die for your country in a foreign conflict with no discernable benefit to the American people.
These promises were not policies, they were distractions. Distractions from the fact that America was at the tail end of a losing war in which new recruits were walking the same patrols their fathers walked. A war in which men at the end of their military careers would live to see their grandbabies come home wounded from the same villages they fought over 20 years earlier. A war in which trillions of dollars, and hundreds of thousands of lives, were spent to enrich a select few government officials and senators who had wisely invested in defense contractors. But in the name of diversity, all was forgiven. American drone strikes kill dozens of innocents at a wedding in Afghanistan, but at least the pilot of that drone was a 24-year-old gender-queer air force officer with they/them pronouns.
Now, War is Gay, and that’s all that will matter to the Left.
Yet, war is a serious matter and deserves serious thought and serious policy proposals from those running for office in this country. We deserve a candidate for the United States Senate who will commit to never voting to send troops to fight in a corporate war that benefits the oligarchs of DC. We need a Senator who will promise to never support the continued expansion of American Military operations overseas. it’s time to vote for a Senator who will fight diligently to encourage the use of diplomacy to build peaceful relations with all nations on earth, and who will never vote to send your sons and daughters to die, no matter how gay they are.
As the most prosperous nation on earth, the American people should be the richest and most comfortable in the world. Yet the unnecessary taxation and theft of our generational wealth to fund illegal wars of conquest overseas rob our people of the chance to live peacefully and happily in their own homes. Where we now engage in war, we must strive to engage in trade. Where we now occupy, we must aim to befriend. Where we now arm those who would wish us harm, we should instead arm every American man and woman, regardless of sexual preference, race, religion, cultural heritage, gender identity, or any other immutable characteristic, and embolden them to be their own defense.
The best defense against those who wish us harm is a well-armed populace on good terms with our neighbors. The senseless violence and waste of generational warfare must come to an end.
