The Faces of Freedom, Porcupine Days 2023 Photo Album
Porcupine Day VII has come and gone, and it was yet again another great evening with friends gathered in a celebration of liberty in the granite State!
Porcupine Day, quickly becoming more than just another in the list of celebrations of freedom in New Hampshire, marks the anniversary of The Free State Project triggering the move, and beginning the fight in earnest to secure a world set free in our lifetimes, in the Live Free or Die State of New Hampshire.
This year, I was asked to attend and present a brief passage from my new book, “Live Free and Thrive: 101 Reasons Liberty Lives in New Hampshire, ad So Should You!”
While I wasn’t helping with the AV Set Up, or exercising my love of brevity during my short presentation, I was able to engage in one of the few forms of art I find myself passionate about. For years, I’ve been sulking around events in New Hampshire with a camera, trying to document not just the events I’ve attended, but the very real candid human interactions that take place there. I’ve done an extensive amount of amateur photography work over the years, more as a passion than anything, and have developed a style that I myself have grown to love.
There is a subtle beauty to the art of candid photography. The act of capturing the individual moments of human interaction, and highlighting the best of any event’s excitement for those participating. The memories we cherish are often comprised of these small moments in culmination.
This was not a paid gig, but one I took upon myself, for myself, and hopefully for the benefit and enjoyment of others. I know this is not the type of work you’ve come to expect from me in this medium, filled with podcasts, and long winded diatribes about the ethics of liberty, but alas, it is with you I’ve chosen to share this passion project of mine.
