Controlling the conversation lets you set the narrative, and direct it's outcome! Control is Key, to closing your sale!

Controlling the Conversation
Now that we’ve gone over how to structure our sales process and have the best conversation we can, the next lesson should be on how to control that conversation, in tone and direction. Simply having a balance conversation is meaningful in your daily life, but in order to use those skills in business, sales or politics, you need to know how to take control of those situations. When you’re able to take control of these conversations, you’ll be able to guide those you speak with to come to the conclusions you want.
One of the first steps in controlling any conversation is the establishment of trust. There’s an old adage in sales, that the only true objection is trust. If someone doesn’t trust you, then why would they buy something from you? The same is going to hold true with your activism. If you can’t earn someone’s trust, then what makes you think that you can earn their support?
There are a number of tactics that successful salespeople use to build trust in relationships with new clients, and there is simply no way we could cover them all. What we are going to focus on are a few methods that I have found easily translated from sales and consulting over to outreach and politics. First, we are going to cover a few more tips for improving a sales-based conversation, specific to controlling it.
