I went to a Trump Rally
The usual cast of characters made for an interesting day.
I didn’t get to go inside to hear Trump’s remarks, nor was I particularly looking forward to it. I have plenty of issues with President Trump’s record of governance, and the hypocrisy of his supporters in overlooking his historic spending sprees, Project Warp Speed, and zeal for gun control.
However, the rally outside the rally is often where the entertainment really is.

Few people realize the pledge of allegiance was written by Francis Bellamy in the 1890s. Bellamy was a Christian socialist minister. He wrote the pledge to indoctrinate obedience among the people to the state. The same applies to songs and music devoted to the state everywhere in the world; all countries do the same thing. It's about State control: the abdication of personal responsibility, dignity and autonomy all while feeling proud of oneself and the (unrecognized) abusive, tyrannical government one worships.
