10 Planks, A Dictatorship of The Proletariat
Is the threat of communism in the United States overplayed? Or is the reality of Government in the west already too far gone down the road to serfdom?
A Dictatorship of The Proletariat
While there lies a danger in adopting the methods of tyrants in an attempt to preserve our liberty, that does not make the threat of communism and its cultural machinations any less real. In fact, McCarthy was in fact right in his assertion that a communist subversion of American culture was underway, even while being wrong in his push to become a tyrant to oppose it. What he underestimated though, was not the long-term threat of communism, but rather its existing success in subverting the legislative process and systems governing the United States.
In Karl Marx’s 1847 Communist Manifesto, he outlined a ten-step process to subvert a nation’s culture and government in order to implement communism, whether by violent revolution, or native adoption. What takes many by surprise, is the extent to which most western nations, including The United States, have already adopted these 10 key planks in their models of governance. The reality is, that we aren’t being threatened by communism, we’re living under it already.
The 10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto and Their Modern Applications
1. Abolition of Property in Land and Application of all Rents of Land to Public Purpose.
The most egregious of taxes is the tax on property. Through this claim of ownership, the state has decreed that one cannot own land or the structures built upon it, without paying tribute to the public treasury for the supposed public good. Failure to pay such tribute to the state results in the seizure of property, eviction of occupancy, the termination of rights of ownership, and the sale of the property to benefit the state as opposed to the owner.
2. A Heavy Progressive or Graduated Income Tax.
The U.S. Tax Code is 6,871 pages. When you include the federal tax regulations and the official tax guidance, the number of pages raises to approximately 75,000. This will take an average reader about 14 weeks to finish. This onerous and complex record of rules and regulations is nearly impossible for any individual to comprehend in its entirety, yet governs the forfeiture of income each individual is legally bound to. Any failure to comply properly, or pay in full, results in fines levied, and occasionally incarceration and forfeiture of other rights as a punitive measure.
3. Abolition of All Rights of Inheritance.
While not yet fully in place, the progressive agenda of American politicians routinely includes calls for taxes on inheritance and wealth. The system of probate courts already provides a mechanism by which the state can dictate rules and regulations on inheritance, and interfere in the rights of individuals to dictate the disposition of their property upon their death. Even a legal last will and testament can be challenged and overruled by the whims of the state.
4. Confiscation of the Property of All Emigrants and Rebels.
The process of civil asset forfeiture is well known to be a corrupt practice in The United States. Law Enforcement agencies routinely seize the private property of individuals merely suspected of crimes, without the benefit of conviction or due process. The inevitable weaponization of this practice against dissidents and activists classified as rebels will see the fulfillment of this plank in its entirety.
5. Centralization of Credit in the Hands of the State, by Means of a National Bank with State Capital and an Exclusive Monopoly.
The Creation of the Federal Reserve System, and central banking in The United States, actually predates the writing of the Communist Manifesto. The United States Federal Reserve maintains a monopoly on currency and lending, manipulating the value of the dollar, and influencing markets. Backed by the full faith in credit that the US Military will assassinate any world leader who opposes the notion of using the US Dollar as a world reserve currency, it has allowed the state to manipulate and dominate global markets for over a century.
6. Centralization of the Means of Communication and Transport in the Hands of the State.
The hyper-regulation of public roadways and public transit systems has long been the standard in most western countries, the United States included. With the Federal interstate highway system being the backbone of our national transportation network, and arterial road networks just more localized extensions of government management, it is unfathomable to engage in the act of transportation without being licensed, regulated, and taxed into compliance with state control of your activities. The Department of Transportation exists within the federal government solely to centralize the management of these roadways and the vehicles which travel upon them. Air travel is even more regulated, with a whole host of agencies involved in its oversight, including the TSA, FAA, NTSB, DOT, and others.
Communication infrastructure has advanced faster than the ability of the state to regulate it effectively for a long time. Yet, even so, The United States Congress has attempted at every turn to regulate those companies most prevalent in the industry. Telephone, Television, Cable, Internet, and now Social media. Each at its advent has challenged the governing bodies to regulate them, yet they persist in the attempt to exercise control over how information is shared and spread among the people.
7. Extension of Factories and Instruments of Production Owned by the State, the Bringing Into Cultivation of Waste Lands, and the Improvement of the Soil Generally in Accordance with a Common Plan.
The Green New Deal has become the rallying cry of the progressive agenda. To regulate all production and industry within the confines of its environmental standards. A single common plan of acceptable actions, in the name of cultivating environmental standards as dictated by the state. With subsidization of select sectors of the energy industry in an effort to control the availability of resources.
8. Equal Liability of All to Labor. Establishment of Industrial Armies, Especially for Agriculture.
The central mismanagement of currency by the Federal reserve system has created a system of consistent inflation that robs Americans of their ability to save and plan for retirement. With forced reliance on the Social Security system for end-of-life care and infirmity, Americans are compelled to labor for the benefit of the state and its corporations, as opposed to their own betterment and enjoyment. The rising costs of living are being reflected in the average American being unable to afford housing and the necessities of life due to state manipulation of markets. As true private and small businesses are regulated out of existence, the inevitability of a state-enabled corporate monopoly on labor is a near certainty.
9. Combination of Agriculture with Manufacturing Industries; Gradual Abolition of the Distinction Between Town and Country by a More Equable Distribution of the Population over the Country.
The federal government has taken an explicit interest in the regulation of farmlands and public lands, with the very existence of the Bureau of Land Management and other agencies that regulate the use of land. The majority of land in the United States is not held privately, but as property of the Federal Government. And with a modern push towards corporate consolidation of ownership as a de facto arm of the state, we’re seeing a transition towards the managed distribution of population and centralized management of resources. With the Gates foundation hoarding private farmland and becoming the largest owner of farmlands in the country, while BlackRock spends billions to monopolize the housing market, all while engaging in legislative rent-seeking to regulate their competition out of the market, these “private” actors are becoming the facilitators of state control.
10. Free Education for All Children in Public Schools. Abolition of Children's Factory Labor in its Present Form. Combination of Education with Industrial Production.
Access to free K-12 education at taxpayer expense has become the backbone of the American Educational system. The reality that this system is more a substitute for childcare than education is lost on most who rely on it. While there is a growing movement for school choice, and educational alternatives across the country, government-managed indoctrination centers have become the default in our society. The quality of education has suffered, and children have been left ill-prepared to deal with the realities of the working world, yet there remains stiff cultural and political opposition to allowing parents to take charge of their children’s educational outcomes.
